Welcome to the SHTC (Society of Holistic Therapists and Coaches).
We are a UK Based professional association of therapists and life coaches formed to represent those therapists and coaches who have externally accredited qualifications to appropriate standards. We exist to enable the public to contact appropriately qualified therapists, and to provide professional support and registration for our members.
Insurance Block Schemes
We have a choice of two professional insurance schemes for our members.
Scheme 1: Therapists with practical training
This scheme requires the practitioner to have completed either a practical training course (accredited) in the first instance, or to have completed sufficient practical hours of training and case study training in addition to their accredited distance learning. The Edinburgh based workshop and case study programme is appropriate as a practical conversion for practitioners for psychological and some holistic courses. More information via the provider on hours needed.
Please go HERE (opens a separate window) and select SHTC as your professional body. You may have completed enough hours in training with other closely related therapies. Check and see! Always check if you have completed the hours of case study, practical training and for massage and hands on therapists the anatomy and psysiology requirements. The cost is LOW compared with other options.
Scheme 2: Therapists with distance learning training only
Therapists who have completed accredited professional training by distance learning can also gain insurance through this second scheme.

Therapists registered with the SHTC must have a minimum of £1 million professional insurance. Both the above schemes provide appropriate cover. We are happy to allow members to use whatever other appropriate scheme they choose as long as the scheme meets the appropriate £1 million level.
